The Catherby docks at first light, and one thing worth waiting for: three Scatters anywhere on the board open the free spins, where Money Fish land carrying a cash value and an Angler Wild collects every one of them.

How to play Gielinor Big Catch

  1. Set your stake. All 10 paylines are always active - there is nothing to select and nothing to switch off.
  2. Spin. Lines pay left to right from reel 1, and three or more matching symbols pay.
  3. Watch the Scatters. At most one lands per reel, so you can count them building across the board - and when two have landed with the feature still reachable, the remaining reels take noticeably longer to stop.
  4. Three, four or five Scatters award 10, 15 or 20 free spins.
  5. In free spins, Money Fish carry a value from 2x to 2,000x your stake, and an Angler Wild collects every one on the board. Every fourth Angler awards 10 more spins and raises the collection multiplier: 2x, then 3x, then 10x.

About Gielinor Big Catch

The base game is deliberately traditional - no tumbling reels, no respins, nothing to learn - because the whole point of the machine is the free spin round, and every extra mechanic would be competing with it for your attention. There is no Wild and no Money Fish in the base game at all: both belong to the round, which is what makes it feel like a different machine rather than more of the same.

Two Anglers on the same board each collect the whole board, so a board holding 40x pays 80x rather than 40x. That interaction, and the ladder of retriggers behind it, is where the game's biggest wins come from.

The feature opens on average once every 140 spins, and that figure is exact rather than estimated: each reel strip carries exactly three Scatters, spaced far enough apart that no reel can ever show two, so a reel shows one exactly nine times in ninety-six. Roughly two thirds of the game's entire return sits behind that one event.

Everything a spin does is decided from the provably fair seed before the reels start turning - the stops, every fish's value, where the Anglers land and what the collection pays. Nothing about the animation's speed or length can change it, and nothing you press during it can either.

Gielinor Big Catch FAQ

What is the max win on Gielinor Big Catch?

2,100x your total stake. A free spin round is capped there - counting the spin that opened it - and ends the moment it reaches the ceiling, with any spins still owed forfeited. It happens about once in 160,000 spins.

How do you trigger the free spins?

Land three or more Scatters anywhere in view. They do not need to be on a payline, and at most one lands per reel, so three, four or five are all possible - awarding 10, 15 or 20 free spins. It happens about once every 140 spins.

What is the Angler Wild?

The fisherman, and he appears only during free spins. He is wild for every paying symbol, and when he lands he collects the value of every Money Fish on the board. If two land on one spin, each of them collects the whole board.

How does the multiplier work?

Anglers are counted for the whole round. The fourth awards 10 more free spins and a 2x collection multiplier, the eighth makes it 3x, and the twelfth makes it 10x, where it stays for the rest of the round. A collection is paid at the multiplier that was in force when that spin started.

Do Money Fish pay on their own?

No. A Money Fish is worth exactly nothing until an Angler lands to collect it - which is the whole tension of the round. If an Angler lands with no fish on the board, he may throw a Fishing Explosive to make some.

Is it provably fair?

Every round is generated from a server seed that is hashed and shown to you before you bet, combined with a client seed you control and an incrementing nonce. When you rotate your seed the old server seed is revealed, so you can replay every round it produced and confirm nothing changed after the fact.
