How selling works

Tell us how much you are selling and which game it is in, and a host meets you in game to take it. You trade the gold across and get paid - one transaction, no listing it somewhere and waiting to see if anyone bites, no negotiating with a stranger who may vanish halfway through.

You are quoted a rate before you trade anything, and that is the rate you get. Nothing is deducted afterwards and there is no fee taken out of the number you agreed to.

Why sell your gold

Most people selling gold are doing one of three things: quitting, or taking a break and not wanting a stagnant bank sitting there; sitting on a bank far larger than anything they actually plan to buy; or having had a genuinely good week at something and wanting to bank part of it rather than let it ride.

All three are the same problem - gold is only worth something while you are playing - and all three have the same fix. Gold you are not going to spend is worth more converted than it is sitting in a bank you have stopped logging into.

Selling safely

Trade first, get paid immediately after, with a host whose name is attached to a site rather than a throwaway account. That is the whole of it, and it is the part that goes wrong for people who sell to a stranger on a forum.

As with buying: nobody legitimate ever needs your account details. If a buyer wants your login rather than a trade, they are not buying your gold, they are taking your account.

OSRS and RS3 rates

Both are bought, at separate rates, because they are worth separate amounts. OSRS gold is worth substantially more per unit than RS3 gold and is quoted accordingly - you will get a straight number for each rather than one blended figure.

Larger amounts can usually be handled in one trade rather than split across several. Ask in support and a host will tell you what is possible right now.

Ask in the support chat for a live rate - gold prices move, so a figure printed on a page would be out of date by the time you read it. You are quoted before you trade anything.

How do I get paid?

A host will confirm the available payout methods and the rate when you open the request. Payment follows the trade, not the other way around.

Is there a minimum?

Ask in support - it depends on the currency and on what is being paid out. Larger sales are usually easier to handle, not harder.

Do you buy RS3 gold?

Yes, at its own rate. RS3 gold is worth a fraction of OSRS gold per unit, so the two are always quoted separately.

Do you need my account details?

No. It is an ordinary in-game trade between two logged-in players. Never give your RuneScape login to anybody, on any site, for any reason.
