Hi-Lo the way it has never been run: as a room. One card is on the table, everybody in the round calls the next one, and when it turns you see who was right. Hits multiply, misses are out, and anyone still in can take their number before the next card. The odds are the solo game's exactly, so nothing changes but the company.

How to play Live Hi-Lo

  1. Join the round while it is taking bets. The start card is already on the table.
  2. Each card, lock a call - higher, lower or same - or hold and sit it out for free. You can change your mind until the window closes.
  3. The card turns for everyone at once. Correct calls multiply your run; a wrong one ends it.
  4. Cash out between any two cards. When the cards run out, everyone still in is paid where they stand.

About Live Hi-Lo

Every round mints its own server seed and publishes its hash before anyone can join. The whole card stream is fixed by that seed, and it is revealed the moment the round settles, so any round can be rebuilt afterwards. Nobody - not the house, not the room - can see a card before it turns.

Your pending call is private until the card flips. What the room can see is how it is leaning - how many have called higher, lower or the same - which is the part that makes it a room rather than ten people playing alone.

Holding is free, the way a skip is in the solo game. A card you sit out cannot bust you and does not move your run. Since every call is priced at its true chance, waiting for a kinder card changes nothing about the expected value; it is just how the game is played.

Live Hi-Lo FAQ

Do I play against the other people?

No. Everybody calls the same card, but each run is paid on its own. What somebody else calls never changes what you are paid.

What if my connection drops mid-round?

A card you did not call on is a hold - you cannot bust on it and your run does not move. When the round ends, anything still standing is paid at its multiplier.

Can I see what other people called?

Only after the card has turned. Before that you see the lean of the room, not the names.

Is it provably fair?

Every round is generated from a server seed that is hashed and shown to you before you bet, combined with a client seed you control and an incrementing nonce. When you rotate your seed the old server seed is revealed, so you can replay every round it produced and confirm nothing changed after the fact.
