The Duel Arena, back. Two fighters, real Old School RuneScape gear and combat formulas - accuracy rolls, max hits, attack speeds, Dharok's set effect, dragon dagger and dragon claws specs and tentacle venom all modelled - and a stake in GP on the outcome. The house takes 2.5% of the pot and nothing else.

How to play Duel Arena

  1. Pick one of four loadouts: abyssal tentacle, full Dharok's, dragon dagger, or dragon claws that swap to Dharok's greataxe after two specs. Both fighters fight in the loadout you pick.
  2. To fight the house, set your stake and duel. A win pays 1.95x - two stakes less the 2.5% commission.
  3. To fight a player, post a challenge on the board with your stake and loadout, or take one someone else posted. Your stake is held while your challenge is open, and you can cancel it until someone takes it.
  4. The duel plays out tick by tick under real OSRS accuracy, max-hit and attack-speed maths. Nobody makes a choice once it starts.
  5. The winner is paid the moment the duel ends. In a player duel that's 1.98x the stake - the pot less the 1% commission.

About Duel Arena

Both fighters are identical, so a duel is a genuine coin flip and the only thing standing between you and the whole pot is the fight itself. The house is not a participant - it takes a commission on the pot and nothing more, 2.5% against the house or 1% on a player-versus-player duel. Dharok's hits climbing into the 50s and a dragon dagger spec landing twice decide who wins; they never change what the duel costs to enter.

Jagex removed staking from the real Duel Arena in 2021 and replaced it with Ferox Enclave, which is why so many players ended up searching for somewhere else to do it. This is that, with the two things the original couldn't offer: the outcome is generated server-side from a verifiable seed rather than from a client you have to trust, and the payout is automatic.

There's a PvP challenge board for duelling real opponents, and the classic 2D renderer is still live at /duel-arena-classic if you prefer it.

Duel Arena FAQ

Is the OSRS Duel Arena still in the game?

Not for staking. Jagex removed Duel Arena staking in 2021 over scamming and real-world trading concerns, and later replaced the area with Ferox Enclave. Staked duelling now happens off-site.

What does the house take on a duel?

A commission on the pot and nothing else - 2.5% duelling the house, and just 1% on a player-versus-player duel from the challenge board. There is no rake on top and no fee to open or cancel a challenge.

Is the combat real OSRS maths?

Yes - accuracy rolls, max hits, attack speeds, the Dharok's set effect, dragon dagger and dragon claws special attacks and venom all follow the game's own formulas. Both fighters are maxed accounts with no food, prayers or potions, so nothing but the gear and the rolls decides the fight.

Can I duel another player?

Yes. The challenge board lets you open a duel at a stake you set, or take one someone else has posted.
