Every current Mining method by level, what each one really produces per hour, and the honest trade between the fast ones and the ones you can actually sit through.
Granite with a 3-tick cycle is the fastest Mining in the game and has been for a long time. The efficient long-term benchmark is around 126,000 experience an hour, with a theoretical tick-perfect ceiling near 134,000 before a charged celestial ring, and around 140,000 with one. Experienced players making the occasional mistake sit at roughly 120,000 to 125,000.
Without tick manipulation the picture changes completely. Granite drops to around 63,000 an hour at best, and the gap between the two is essentially the whole skill. Mining is unusual in how much of its ceiling is locked behind a clicking rhythm rather than behind a level or an item.
Below 45, powermining iron from 15 is the standard and gives around 45,000 to 55,000 an hour below level 60, rising to roughly 70,000 to 80,000 in the Mining Guild from 60 depending on pickaxe and performance.
Every current training method in the skill and the level each one opens at, so you can find the row for the level you are on rather than reading a whole guide to get to it. This table is generated from the game's current method list and regenerated when it changes, which is why it includes methods most guides have not caught up with yet.
| Level | Method |
|---|---|
| 1 to 15 | Copper/Tin ore |
| 15 to 70 | Iron ore |
| 30+ | Motherlode Mine |
| 40+ | Gem rocks |
| 41+ | Calcified rocks |
| 45+ | Granite |
| 48+ | Rubium rocks |
| 60+ | Crashed stars |
| 70+ | Volcanic Mine |
| 70+ | Zalcano |
| 75+ | Blast Mine |
| 78+ | Infernal shale |
| 92+ | Amethyst |
13 methods. Level 1 to 99 is 13,034,431 experience.
Motherlode Mine is available from 30 and gives around 62,000 experience an hour at level 90 with a dragon pickaxe, a charged celestial ring, the prospector kit, the upgraded sack and both the upper level and upper chute unlocked. That is roughly half the granite rate for a small fraction of the attention.
It also pays, which granite does not. The nuggets buy the prospector kit and the sack upgrades, and the ore that falls out is worth real money. For a lot of accounts that combination beats a faster method they will abandon after an hour.
Iron ore
Coal
Runite ore
Amethyst
Dragon pickaxeMining has had more added to it than most skills, and a guide written even a couple of years ago will be missing several of these outright. Calcified rocks from 41 give up to 50,000 experience an hour at 99 alongside roughly 3,000 blessed bone shards, which is 15,000 to 18,000 passive Prayer experience, and around 94,000 with tick manipulation. Rubium rocks from 48 run from about 39,000 an hour at level 48 to 64,000 at 99.
Crashed stars from 60, Volcanic Mine from 70 and Blast Mine from 75 all sit in the same band, in the 60,000 to 80,000 range at high levels, and all pay better than granite. Amethyst from 92 is slow and profitable and is where a lot of accounts finish the skill.
3-tick granite, at an efficient sustained rate of around 126,000 experience an hour, rising to roughly 140,000 with a charged celestial ring. Without tick manipulation the same rocks give about 63,000 an hour, which is the single biggest gap between effort levels in any gathering skill.
13,034,431 experience. At the 126,000 an hour granite benchmark that is around 103 hours. At Motherlode Mine rates of roughly 62,000 it is closer to 210. Most accounts mix the two and land in between.
For experience per click, yes. Around 62,000 an hour at level 90 with the full setup is about half the granite rate for a small fraction of the attention, and unlike granite it pays. The nuggets also fund the prospector kit and sack upgrades that make it faster.
Motherlode Mine, comfortably. Calcified rocks from 41 are a reasonable low-effort alternative and give passive Prayer experience through blessed bone shards on top of the Mining.
