What a kill is actually worth

This is the boss where the average is most misleading, and it is worth spelling out because it changes whether you should go at all. The crystals are 1 in 520 and they are valuable enough that they drag the average kill up to around 75,192 coins.

Strip the crystals out and the average kill is worth 27,159 coins, and the baseline profit is around 482,179 an hour. That is the number you will actually experience for long stretches, because 1 in 520 at 40 kills an hour is a crystal every thirteen hours on average.

Neither number is wrong. But a player who reads the 75,192 figure, goes for four hours, gets no crystal and concludes the guide lied to them has been badly served by the way that average is usually presented.

Kills per hour, by weapon

A twisted bow, arclight or abyssal bludgeon setup can expect closer to 40 kills an hour. A scythe of vitur should expect about 52, but the charge cost reduces profit, so the fastest weapon is not automatically the most profitable one here.

That trade is worth thinking about properly rather than defaulting to the best weapon you own. At Cerberus the scythe buys you 30 percent more kills for a running cost, and whether that is worth it depends entirely on whether you are there for the crystals or for the steady income.

Gear setup

Bring a stack of prayer potions or super restores and expect to use them: the three summoned souls during the fight are a prayer drain mechanic more than a damage one, and running out of prayer is what ends most trips.

Arclight is the cheaper weapon option and performs well here because Cerberus is demonic. A spectral spirit shield is the standard shield slot for the prayer drain.

The crystals

The three crystals are what the whole boss is about. They upgrade into the primordial, pegasian and eternal boots, which are best in slot for melee, ranged and magic respectively, and which is why demand for them has never really softened.

At 1 in 520 across a combined table, expect a long time between them. The primordial crystal is the one worth the most by a distance, which is worth knowing before you assume a crystal drop is a crystal drop.
