The short answer

Knights of Ardougne from 55 remain the backbone of the skill. The rates scale steeply with level: around 86,000 experience an hour at 55, 124,000 at 70, 182,000 at 85 and 240,000 at 95. From level 95 with the medium diary perk you stop failing entirely, at which point the tick-perfect rate is 252,900 an hour.

The full run from 55 to 99 on knights is worth around 7,630,000 coins without rogue equipment and roughly 15,260,000 with the full set, which is the clearest argument for getting the set first that the skill offers.

Pyramid Plunder is the other headline method, and it is level-gated in a way that catches people out: roughly 125,000 an hour at 71 to 80, 190,000 at 81 to 90, and 270,000 at 91 and above. It is only the best method in the game once you are past 91.

The Varlamore methods

Stealing valuables in Varlamore from 50 runs from about 72,000 experience an hour at level 50 to 105,000 at 99, and pays around 110,000 coins an hour from trading the valuables to Oriana, plus jewellery and blessed bone statuettes that chisel into shards for passive Prayer experience. Gladiator rank at the Fortis Colosseum lifts the coin figure to roughly 130,000 an hour.

Rogues' Castle chests from 84 give around 210,000 to 230,000 experience an hour unbanked, assuming the worlds are not crowded, and roughly 190,000 experience with 300,000 coins an hour if you bank the loot. The ceiling for the skill overall, uninterrupted, is about 300,000 an hour.

The early game is shorter than you think

Men and women to 5, then bakery stalls to 25, then fruit stalls to 50 at around 42,750 experience an hour, or 34,200 if you only work one stall. That is the whole of the early game and it goes quickly.

Stealing artefacts from 49 is worth naming separately because it is the low-effort option in a skill that otherwise demands constant attention. Around 40,000 to 50,000 an hour is realistic even at lower levels, with up to 60,000 possible, and it asks very little of you compared to blackjacking or knights.
