The OSRS Buffalo King Megaways · 200,704 ways · yaks that stack · wilds that multiply · 96% RTP
A slot in the Buffalo King Megaways family, on the snow of Neitiznot. Six reels each show two to seven symbols on a spin, with a four-symbol top reel over the middle four, so the number of ways to win changes every spin and reaches 200,704 at full height. Wins pay left to right for every way through the run, winners leave and the rest fall, and the yak, the top symbol, lands in herds. Four of the King's seals open the free spins, where every wild carries 2x, 3x or 5x and the wilds in a sequence's wins multiply together.
Yak King follows the Megaways game that put a buffalo on every casino floor, and moves the herd to the one place in Old School where a herd already lives: the yak pen outside Neitiznot. The yak is the top symbol and it stacks, the way the buffalo does, so a reel at full height can be seven yaks tall, and six reels of them at 200,704 ways is the screen the game is built around. Behind it are the polar eagle of the Rellekka hunter grounds, the ice trolls the Fremennik fight on the northern isles, the ice wolf and the rock crab of the shore, and the helm, shield, lyre, blade and sea boots that a Fremennik carries.
Ways are what make it different from every other slot here. There are no lines and no pays-anywhere count: a run of adjacent reels from the left pays once for every path through it, so two of a symbol on one reel doubles the win and a stack of yaks multiplies it. The reels changing height every spin is the point. A short board is a cheap spin; a tall one is where the big pays are, and the plaque tells you which you have got the moment the last reel stops.
The free spins change one rule. Every wild lands with a multiplier, and the wilds that are part of a win during a tumble sequence multiply together rather than adding, so a 3x and a 5x in one sequence make 15x on the whole of it. Over two million simulated spins the base game returns about 75% of the stake on its own, the seals about 1%, and the free spins the rest, for about 96% in total. Around 41 spins in 100 pay something and the free spins open about once in 490 spins, or once in 225 with the Ante Bet on, and average about 95 times the bet.
The music is the place's own: Rellekka under the base game, and Dagannoth Dawn under the free spins. Everything a spin does is decided from the provably fair seed before a reel moves: every height, every symbol, every wild's multiplier, every seal, and the whole chain of tumbles, which is computed on the server and replayed on screen.
An Old School RuneScape themed slot in the Buffalo King Megaways family. Six reels that each show two to seven symbols a spin plus a four-symbol top reel, up to 200,704 ways to win, tumbling wins, a stacking yak as the top symbol, and free spins where every wild carries a multiplier.
A symbol pays when it sits on adjacent reels from the left, the yak from two reels and everything else from three. The pay for the run's length is multiplied by the number of ways through it, which is the product of how many of the symbol each reel holds. Wilds count for every symbol.
Four, five or six seals open 12, 17 or 22 free spins. Every wild that lands wears 2x, 3x or 5x, and the multipliers of the wilds in a sequence's wins multiply together and multiply the whole sequence. The product starts again at 1x on every free spin. Three or more seals during the free spins add five more, without limit.
Ante Bet raises the stake by a quarter and lands the free spins about twice as often, at the same return. Buy Free Spins costs 100 times your bet and puts four seals on the next spin, which pays them and opens the feature. You cannot use both at once.
About 96%, measured over two million simulated spins, in every mode: the base game, the Ante Bet and the buy. The most a round can pay is 5,000x your bet.
Neitiznot and Jatizso are the two islands north of Rellekka, reached by boat from the Rellekka docks after The Fremennik Trials. Neitiznot has the yak pen where yak-hide comes from; the isles are the setting of The Fremennik Isles quest and the fight against the ice trolls.
Every round is generated from a server seed that is hashed and shown to you before you bet, combined with a client seed you control and an incrementing nonce. When you rotate your seed the old server seed is revealed, so you can replay every round it produced and confirm nothing changed after the fact.
